Wolf Culture are "Dying In The Living Room"
Wolf Culture, U.K. based punk band, release their sophomore EP “Dying In The Living Room” via Common Ground Collective. This 6 track EP was a 2 year wait for fans, but delivers on some high expectations. I spoke with the guys on our podcast just before the album dropped, we talked about their writing process, the direction for their sound, the plans for the rest of 2020, collaborating with Kellin Quinn, and much more! There are a few standout tracks that we wanted highlight.
The first track that caught our attention, “Rain Dance” is one of the more catchy upbeat songs on the EP. Definitely a standout track as frontman Max Dervan shows off smooth, dancing vocals. It features high energy drums and guitars backing the vocals of Max to create a track that will immediately hook listeners into a feel good vibe.
The next standout track is “Ultimatum” which is a newer single featuring Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens. When I spoke with the guys in the band this track is one that they were very excited about, and they said the opportunity to work with Kellin was a pleasure. This track stands out even without Kellin’s vocals, but adding in Kellin takes the track to a whole different level.
Of course “nervous” is an outstanding track that tackles the topic of feeling anxious/nervous. As Max describes in our conversation he had to take breaks and write when he had the feelings of nervousness or anxiousness. And while they don’t make a point to focus on mental health specifically in many of their songs, they felt that this song was one that needed to be shared. We agree the message delivered through the lyrics is a feeling that many people can relate to.
Dying In The Living Room is a punk highlight of the year for sure. This EP should be on everyones playlists and radars. Wolf Culture is poised to redefine the punk scene and as soon as live music is allowed to happen again the shows that they will put on are going to be must see shows for sure. It was great talking with the guys for the podcast and the EP is a solid showing of their new sound and direction. You can find the EP anywhere you stream or buy music.
